Arsenal vs Red Star
UEFA Europa League
Date: 2nd November, 2017
Kick off at 21:05 UK Time
Venue: Emirates Stadium, London.

Arsene Wenger and his men welcome Serbian side – Red Star Belgrade to the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night as the Gunners kick-start their 2nd leg fixtures of the Europa League.

The Gunners picked up all three points in the first leg encounter two weeks ago, with the only goal coming very late in the second half.

A moment of brilliance from Arsenal saw Olivier Giroud’s overhead kick find the top corner; after a perfectly timed flick-on from Jack Wilshere inside the 18-yard box found Theo Walcott, whose short head pass was superbly finished off by Giroud.

The 1-0 victory against Red Star meant Arsenal have all but secured their place in the next round of the Europa League. However, according to Gooner match report, the home game against the Serbian side will certainly be a huge clash for the Gunners with an unbeaten home run record across all competition to protect.

Wenger has also said he won’t take any game for granted and as such is expected to field a decent side capable of doing the job against Red Star. But it is the crucial game at the weekend against Manchester City the boss will have mostly in his mind when deciding on his team squad for the Europa League clash.

However the outcome of the game at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night, as well as the other game between FC Cologne and BATE Borisov, Arsenal will remain top of Group H after winning all three of their opening matches. With Red Star and BATE Borisov currently occupying the second and third position respectively with 4 points each – albeit Red Star conceding a goal less than BATE. Cologne remains in fourth position after failing to win any of their opening three games.

Wenger will be counting on the help of his experienced forwards Giroud and Walcott as well as the Emirates Stadium home support to spur his side to a comfortable victory against the Serbians.
