Arsenal surprised link for Watford captain Troy Deeney is seen as a flattering news for the 27 year old strikers who admits that his son wants him to make a switch to the Emirates from Vicarage Road in the January transfer window.
But Deeney stated that he is committed to the project at Watford.
Deeney’s partnership with Nigerian international, Odion Jude Ighalo has seen the duo score 20 goals between them with Deeney scoring 6 of the goals while Ighalo has 14 goals already this term which is why Watford, Tutored by Quique Sanchez Flores is on the top half of the League log; away from relegation troubles and would want to remain so all through the season by keeping hold of both Deeney and Ighalo.
The 27 year old told Talksport that ‘’it is very flattering’’ but it is something he welcomes. The news broke out early this week that the Gunners were planning a £20 Million move for the Watford captain in the January transfer window to compliment Olivier Giroud up front in a bid to boost their chances of lifting the Premier League title.
The striker pointed out that from his point of view, he and Ighalo being linked with a move away from Vicarage road shows they are doing something right since the league started and they plan to complete it, but it would be hard for the duo to still remain at Watford in the summer; even though a move in January looks highly unlikely.
