Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal could miss out on Paris Saint Germain striker Edison Cavani next summer, according to the Metro.
The Gunners are reportedly interested in signing the Uruguay forward and it is believed the Gunners could make a move for him next summer.
According to the report, Real Madrid’s recent struggles could see the Gunners miss out on their target as the Spanish club will now turn their attentions to Juventus ace Alvaro Morata which could leave the old lady’s light in attack.
The Serie A giants will then move for Cavani which could see the Gunners miss out on the 28 year old.
Madrid who have been banned from registering new players in the next two transfer windows are prepared to move for Alvaro Morata which would then force Juventus to act fast and snatch Cavani from the hands of Arsenal.
Cavani is getting close to leaving PSG after coach Laurent Blanc’s recent comments which revealed the former Napoli man is unhappy in Paris.
“Our system does not allow Cavani to show his qualities at 100 percent, but his statistics over the past 2 1/2 years have been very good,” said Blanc. “He would like us to play differently but I also need to keep the squad and my team balanced.”
“I have a great trust and admiration for Edi.”
“The results are good and the way we play is suiting a majority of players. It’s hard to have a change of tactics for one player, all the more because we have the results and the play fits my philosophy.”
