Alexis Sanchez is closing in on a move to Bayern Munich, according to reports.

The Chilean is being linked with a move away from the Emirates, following his refusal to sign a new contract with us. His contract expires at the end of next season but he has so far frustrated all the club’s attempts to get him to sign a new deal.

Despite Wenger’s insistence that he would be made to see out the remainder of his contract, the club is privately concerned about the possibility of losing him for free next year.

As a result, Manchester City, Chelsea and Bayern Munich are all keeping tabs on the forward but the Metro claims it is the German giants who are leading the race to sign the player.

The Bravarians have been working on a deal to sign Sanchez for quite sometime and they appear to have found a headway in their attempts to sign the versatile forward.

However, they will now have to convince Wenger to sell the Chilean. The boss recently stated in an interview that he will not entertain any interest for his star players regardless of their contractual situation.

‘They [Sanchez and Ozil] will stay at the club and hopefully we can extend their contracts,’ the Frenchman told beIN Sports.

‘You cannot weaken the club and weaken the team.

‘You want to strengthen the team. Unless you find a player of the same calibre.’

Sanchez was Arsenal’s best player last season, helping us win the FA Cup trophy, but it seems like his head isn’t here anymore.

A move to Bayern wouldn’t be too bad compared to a move to a rival club in the Premier League.
