Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal have received an offer for experienced Spanish international, Mikel Arteta from the Hammers this January transfer window, according to reports.
Arteta has not featured regularly for the Gunners due to the strong presence and performance rate of Francis Coquelin and Santi Carzola this term. And even when he is given a starting role, it is either he under performs or end up picking up a knock.
Arteta is being courted by West Ham United as he was starved of first team action for the Gunners during the first half of the league season. The 33 year old has made just 10 appearances for Arsenal this term largely due to his poor form and series of injuries.
The experienced midfielder joined Arsenal from Premier league side Everton in 2011 for a fee in the region of £10 Million and he is seen as a valuable player that could help the West Ham cement an European qualifying position on the log after starting the league in an impressive manner.
Bilic needs to add to his squad with some key players of his squad out injured. Victor Moses, Lanzini, Payet and Sakoh were influential during the early stage of the campaign but each have gone out of the team with one injury or the other; this has seen the Hammers slide down the table and almost out of European position.
Arteta would bring in steel and mobility in the Hammers team and he would help Dimitri Payet to thrive better in his free role if Gunners sanction the sales.
