Arsene Wenger explained his decision to replace Alexandre Lacazette with Olivier Giroud at half-time in Arsenal‘s 5-0 victory over Huddersfield. Lacazette was the Gunners’ standout player before the break at the Emirates and broke the deadlock in the 3rd minute, finding the net after a classy through ball from Aaron Ramsey.
Asked about the Frenchman’s substitution, Wenger explained: ‘It is an injury. ‘It looked like a groin injury and is definitely out of the weekend [Manchester United]. He might be out for a while.’
Lacazette’s opener on Wednesday evening was his seventh goal for Arsenal this season and his fifth at the Emirates since signing from Lyon in the summer.
