Arsenal are interested in signing RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita, according to Sports Bild via The Daily Star.
Keita has been impressive for Leipzig this season, helping his team sit second on the Bundesliga table.
The German outfit has been the surprise story of the Bundesliga this season and it is players like Keita that have been integral to their success.
The midfielder’s performances this term has caught the attention of Arsene Wenger who is now lining up a big money move for the 22 year old.
According to the report, Arsenal are prepared to pay up to €30m (£26m) for Keita’s services.
Leipzig will want to hold on to the midfielder who only joined them from sister club RB Salzburg last summer but they know they don’t have the power to stop top clubs from poaching their star man.
The report also claims Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on Keita as they search for a replacement for Xabi Alonso.
I think that goes to show how well Keita has evolved this season. To be seen as a successor to one of football’s best midfielder goes a long way to tell us about his quality and potential.
That’s the sort of players we want to be seeing at the Emirates.
