Pep Guardiola has dropped a hint on City’s move for Jack Wilshere.

The England international is currently on a season long loan at Bournemouth, where he has impressed so far.

Despite his fine form, his long-term future at Arsenal is a bit cloudy. Reports claim Wenger has yet to decide whether the midfielder will be offered a contract extension, opening up the possibility of a summer.

Top sides within and outside England, including Man City have been linked with a move for Wilshere on several occasions this season with reports claiming Guardiola is keeping an eye on the England international.

The City boss is a big fan of the midfielder and is expected to attempt to lure the player to the Etihad if Arsenal are willing to sell.

And the City boss was full of praise for Wilshere – hinting at a summer move for the Gunners man.

“I remember in Barcelona and that year we played Arsenal,” Guardiola said, as quoted by the Express.

“He left a massive impression. A high, high level.

“I know the problem with Jack Wilshere was just the injuries. If he’s lucky to play regularly for one season, he is going to be back to being one of the best midfield players in England by far.

“He has a special quality with the ball, dribbling as a holding midfielder to attack central defenders – it’s not easy to do that.”

Wilshere is a big talent who mustn’t be allowed to leave the Emirates, I will like to think Wenger already has a plan on ground to convince the midfielder to sign an extension with us because a permanent exit won’t go down well with many supporters.
