West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has revealed AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca wanted to join Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal were linked with the Milan forward in August when Wenger was trying to sign a centre forward but a move for the Colombian failed to Materialize.
Although the reports weren’t strong at that time but Bilic has now confirmed there was truth in the reports.
West Ham wanted to sign Bacca in the summer but were turned down by the player who wanted to wait for a move to the Emirates.
“On our list there were Lacazette, Zaza, Bacca and Batshuayi.”
“But I knew it would be difficult to buy them.
“In September last year we wanted Zaza but Juventus had no intention to sell him, then we laid eyes on Lacazette and then Bacca.
“But we weren’t the first choice of the Colombian.
“He was waiting for Arsenal or Atletico Madrid and then finally decided to stay at Milan, but we are very happy because we bought Zaza, who an year ago was our first choice.”
For reasons best known to the club, Arsenal refused to make a move for Bacca and opted to sign Lucas Perez instead.
