Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri has dropped a big hint that Arsenal target Lorenzo Insigne could be sold this summer.

The striker has been in talks with his club over a new deal but has so far rejected all offers. It is believed he is asking for a new deal worth around a £100,000 weekly but Napoli are only prepared to offer him about half of what he is demanding.

It appears both parties are far from reaching an agreement and this could give Arsenal who reports claim have been monitoring his situation a huge boost of signing him.

Italian daily Messaggero via The Daily Star claims Arsenal are serious about signing the striker if he doesn’t agree a new deal at Napoli.

However, we could face competition from Tottenham, Liverpool and Wolfsburg. The trio of clubs are all said to be watching Insigne’s situation with keen interest and would launch a bid if the opportunity arises.

There is a small chance that the four clubs would get the opportunity to battle for the striker’s signature after Sarri admitted that the player’s demand is making negotiations difficult.

“There is no much a manager can do if a player and his agent have different ideas over their future,” he said.

“The club most solve these situations, the quicker they will be the fewer problems we’ll have.”

It is believed that Napoli would demand £44m for the winger whose contract expires in 2019 if they are forced to sell.

Although Insigne is a very quality player, I doubt if Arsenal are really interested in signing him. The links could be the work of his representative who is keen to get the best deal for him.
