Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel doesn’t have any intention of joining Arsenal this summer amid reports linking him with a move to the Emirates.
Recently, it was claimed that Arsenal hierarchy contacted the German about the possibility of replacing Wenger.
But reports in Germany have labeled such claims as false. Tuchel himself has denied interest in the Gunners job.
When questioned about Arsenal’s interest, Tuchel insisted he has no interest in leaving the Bundesliga club.
“I can’t give you any information about the topic because it doesn’t involve me,” Tuchel said. “I’m happy with my job in Dortmund and have a contract, so it is of no interest to me.”
The Express claimed that Wenger has agreed a one year contract extension with Arsenal but Standard Sports understands that no agreement has been reached.
They say the manager’s preference is to remain at the Emirates but he is yet to make a definite decision on his future.
The boss has come under severe criticism from fans in recent weeks and faced abuse from the stands after the 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace.
Despite the fans protests, It is looking increasingly likely that Wenger will continue at Arsenal and that may not go down well with some supporters.
Personally, I don’t mind him staying, he’s been loyal to the club for 21 odd years and he deserves the right to leave when he feels he has nothing left to offer.
We may be struggling at the moment but we can’t erase the beautiful times he’s given us. Those special moments we’ll forever cherish.
