Kieran Gibbs (knee), Theo Walcott (calf) and Mesut Ozil (illness) are all major doubts for the trip to Bournemouth. Nacho Monreal should keep his place at left-back, then, with Hector Bellerin expected to line up at right-back.

Shkodran Mustafi was back on the bench against Crystal Palace and may earn a recall alongside Laurent Koscielny, with Gabriel perhaps making way. Mohamed Elneny is unavailable due to his involvement in the AFCON, so Francis Coquelin and Granit Xhaka look set to combine at the base of midfield in the usual 4-2-3-1.

If Ozil remains sidelined, Arsene Wenger could recall Aaron Ramsey in the No 10 role, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain another who could push for a start, possibly in place of Alex Iwobi. Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud appear more likely to retain their starting roles.

Per Mertesacker, Mathieu Debuchy and Santi Cazorla remain sidelined.
