Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly keeping an eye on Lyon youngster Samuel Umtiti.
According to Le10Sport, the EPL sides are on red alert after the highly rated defender indicated he would love to play in England or Spain someday.
Chelsea were said to be eyeing a transfer for the youngster last summer as they were in search for a potential replacement for John Terry but a move failed to materialize as the blues opted to move for Everton’s John Stones.
Arsenal are also reportedly keen on signing the defender, Arsene Wenger is known for scouting his country, France and luring the best of its talent to Engaland and Umititi have caught the attention of the gunner’s boss.
Umtiti is currently one of the country’s best talent and many believe its a matter of time before the big clubs lure him abroad.
When quizzed about his future, the defender said: ‘I’m very ambitious, I have quite a few goals, but I’ve still got many things to learn with Lyon,’ he said.
‘Going abroad is a dream, there are very great clubs that you dream about. England? Everyone admires that league.
‘I would say I prefer the Spanish game, but to be honest, I don’t have a real preference.’
Umititi has made over 100 league appearances for Lyon since moving into the first team in 2011.
