Arsenal French defender, Mathieu Debuchy is in talks over a loan move to Italian outfit AS Roma for the remainder of the season. According to the Daily Mirror, the Italian club’s sporting director Walter Sabatini is set to meet the French man’s agent and Arsenal to thrash out the terms of a temporary switch to the Stadio Olympico in Italy.
Debuchy, 30-year-old is seeking a move away from the Emirates to get more game time so as to boost his chances of making the French team for the European Championship in his native land France later in the year.
The Experienced right back lost his position in the Gunners squad to Hector Bellarin when he sustained a long term injury that kept him out of the team; giving Bellarin the opportunity to deputise for him and since then; the young Spaniard has not looked back, consigning Debuchy to the bench and void of minutes on the playing pitch, which has led to his request to leave on loan.
Debuchy joined the Gunners from Newcastle United for £10 Million in 2014 and was a regular for the Gunners prior to his injury. Roma would be delighted to have his services for the remaining part of the season as he is a very good defender with a knowledge of the game and should settle in quick to the tempo of the Serie A.
