Arsenal are set to sign La Liga hotshot Nolito from Celta Vigo, with reports saying they are willing to meet his release clause in order to seal the deal.
Nolito who formerly played for Barcelona B, moved to Benfica when he couldn’t make it to Barcelona’s first team, before moving to Celta Vigo where he is making a name for himself now.
The 27-year-old Spanish international has been on the Gunners wish list for a while now, but his performances this season has drawn interests from Barcelona, with the Catalans reportedly leading the race to sign him after he consigned them to a 4-1 defeat when they met his Celta Vigo side, scoring twice in the rout.
However, Barcelona currently don’t have the funds to match his release clause and will turn their attention to cheaper options like Van Persie or Dirk Kuyt, paving the way for Arsenal to swoop in.
He has a release clause of £12.6 million and it is thought that Celta Vigo won’t do a deal for any amount less than that.
