It’s happening! Arsenal could welcome to their ranks a proven Premier League tittle winning winger next season if reports making the rounds are anything to go by.
Arsene Wenger has admitted he could make a bid for Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez this summer who has handed in a transfer request at the King Power Stadium.
“We have not made a bid for him but personally I like the player, yes,” Wenger told broadcaster BeIN SPORTS.
“I think he had a huge impact at Leicester when they won the championship like everybody else at Leicester.
“It’s been a different season this year but it doesn’t take anything away from his qualities.
“Have we made a bid for him? No. Not yet. Not yet means it could happen, it could not happen.”
The boss’ comment doesn’t confirm Arsenal will sign the star, but other reports have gathered that Wenger is keen on bringing the Algerian international to the Emirates to bolster our attacking options next season, and it is only a matter of time before a deal for the winger materializes.
I personally like Mahrez and would welcome the signing as he would bring in a different dimension to our attack plus he is a proven Premier League star, meaning he would hit the ground running almost immediately should he make the switch to the Emirates.
Gooners, do you think Mahrez would be good signing for Arsenal or should the boss go after other targets this summer? Please share your thoughts and comments below.
