Sead Kolasinac enjoyed an impressive start to life with Arsenal – but the days of August and September seem a long time ago now.
Since then Kolasinac has seen his stock drop rapidly with Arsene Wenger, so much so that the left-back lost his place in the side to Gunners youngster Ainsley Maitland-Niles, a right-footed central midfielder.
The Bosnian was handed a rare Premier League start on Thursday night, however, when Wenger’s side lined up against Manchester City at the Emirates.
But he could do nothing to stop Arsenal slumping to a second successive 3-0 defeat against the runaway Premier League leaders, in fact he and his fellow Arsenal defenders were given a torrid time by the visitors.
Kolasianc looked sluggish and unfit at times, something that Gary Neville picked up on during in match commentary on Sky Sports.
“Kolasinac needs help,” said the former Manchester United man.
“The problem with Kolasinac is that he can’t move his feet.
“Manchester City, every one of their players can. So when they change the direction or a quick combination around him, he’s struggling badly.”
