Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Its bitter sweet news for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger in his search for a striker to aid his side’s title bid.
On a bright side, Celta Vigo have confirmed that Gunners target Nolito is available for transfer this January while also hammering the prudent Wenger a blow in the process by insisting the 29-year-old would only be allowed to leave if his release clause is met, via the Express.
The news was revealed by The club’s director of football, Miguel Torrecilla, announcing this week that the Galician club will not let go of their star man without a fight.
He said: “Whoever wants Nolito has to pay his release clause now.”
Arsenal’s interest in the in form striker is no secret and was reported by Spanish source Mundo Deportivo at the beginning of January .
Gunners faithful would be hopefully Wenger is able to stump up the cash required to bring the versatile forward to the Emirates, the player single handedly masterminded a victory over his former side Barcelona earlier in the season. Should the deal happen, he could come back to haunt the Catalans twice this season as he will be eligible to play for the Gunners against Barcelona in the Champions League.
The Spanish forward has been in fantastic form for Celta in the first half of the current campaign netting an impressive eight goals and registering five assists to his name in just fifteen appearances.
