Marseille have made a €28m bid for Olivier Giroud, according to reports in France.
Giroud has been heavily linked with a return to his homeland with Marseille willing to pull all strings to bring him back to the Ligue One.
The French club was recently acquired by a rich investor who is prepared to back them with huge funds this summer transfer window and Giroud is believed to be their top target.
According to Marseille Mercato, Marseille who have already had an initial offer rejected for Giroud, have now returned with an improved bid for the striker.
Giroud lost his position in Arsenal’s starting xi to Alexis Sanchez last season but still managed to make so much impact off the bench.
He is desperate to play more next term and has hinted he could consider a move away from the Emirates if he isn’t guaranteed playing time but Arsenal do not plan to sell the striker.
He recently signed a new contract and Wenger wants to keep him regardless of whether we sign a striker or not.
It is believed Arsenal will demand at least €30m for the striker, if he forces an exit and Marseille’s reported bid is a lot closer to that figure.
It remains to be seen whether this will cause Giroud to take matters into his own hands or remain calm as Arsenal complete the signing of Lacazette
