Matteo Darmian made available by Torino for “crazy offer” [Picture: Getty]
Arsenal have been told they will need to table a “crazy offer” to land summer transfer target Matteo Darmian.
This report is according to the Metro, who claims that the Serie A club will only agree to sell the player if the right offer was made.
The full-back is a target for several big clubs across Europe with Bayern, Barcelona and Arsenal amongst the big shots credited with an interest for the Italian International.
Torino club president Urbano Cairo has revealed that the club would never sell the 25-year-old except the player himself decides to ply his trade elsewhere and if there was a crazy offer for him.
‘We’re in a condition where we can keep hold on to our players – we have no problems with the balance sheet,’ Tuttosport quote Cairo as having said.
‘If Darmian would like to stay then Torino will never sell him, but if he were to signal a desire to leave and if there were to be a crazy offer for him, we might sell.
‘But I’ve not received anything yet.’
Arsenal, Barcelona and Bayern have been linked with a £10.8million move for the versatile defender who can play anywhere in defence.
But he is more comfortable in right-back; a position which earned him the “Right-Back of The Year” award for the 2013-2014 Serie A Season.
