Borussia Dortmund has revealed the only condition they would sell Arsenal target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabonese international has been constantly linked with a move to Arsenal and Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has dropped a big hint that the striker could be allowed to leave in the summer if we come up with a large offer.

Arsenal are not the only club interested in the striker but Watzke has revealed they would only open discussion with a club that bids up to €80m for the Gabonese.

“We can never guarantee that a player will stay with Borussia Dortmund forever, but our strength is to always find new solutions,”  Watzke was quoted as saying by Goal.

“Auba was our alternative to ‘the world ending’ after [Robert] Lewandowski’s departure [to Bayern Munich]. With an €80 million offer, I would be thinking about [club president] Reinhard Rauball and [sporting director] Michael Zorc – if we had one [an offer], we would have to get together with Pierre- Emerick [to discuss it].

“We always have to differentiate between situations where there is such an offer, but we have no pressure… I would prefer it if no offer came.

“[He] is definitely good enough to go to an even bigger club.

There are only a few, but I’m glad to read that it’s a good idea to go to Barcelona,” he added.

Personally, I rate Aubameyang as one of Europe’s best strikers and in today’s market he is worth around what his club is demanding. I wouldn’t have a problem paying that much to bring him to the Emirates but the big question is, will Wenger be willing to do same?

Knowing Wenger’s history of being frugal in the transfer market, do you think we stand a chance to sign the Gabonese or should Wenger change his transfer policy and go all out to sign the striker?
