Manchester City have joined the race to sign Real Madrid midfielder Isco and are now stepping up efforts to sign the midfielder according to reports.
Arsenal have been strongly linked with a move to sign the Spain international in the past and were reportedly preparing a summer bid for the midfielder.
Manchester City have also been constantly linked to the midfielder, City boss Manuel Pellegrini was Isco’s manager at Malaga and the Argentine tried to sign the midfielder before his switch to Madrid.
With Pellegrini leaving Man City this summer, one would expect the club not to be interested in Isco but respected journalist Tancredi Palmeri via the Metro claims the Citizens are stepping up their interest in Isco ahead of a summer move.
It is claimed that Real Madrid are open to the idea of selling the 23 year old due to his failure to break into the team’s starting xi.
Wenger would now have to battle with City’s incoming boss Pep Guardiola in the race to sign Isco. However, the midfielder has been inconsistent at best for the Los Blancos this campaign scoring just two goals and seven assists in as many games.
