Liverpool are interested in signing Arsenal duo Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and on loan goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, according to football insider.

The duo are said to be attracting interest from Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp as the German tries to improve his team.

Alex Oxlade Chamberlain has been linked with a move to numerous Premier League clubs including Manchester City and West Ham.

Szczesny who is currently spending the season on loan at Roma has also been linked with a permanent switch away from the club as he is not prepared to return to the Emirates to play second fiddle to Petr Cech.

Klopp is said to be interested in the Duo and would pay as much as £40m to sign the two players.

The Merseysiders are reportedly in search of a goalkeeper to compete with Simon Mignolet while also looking to add depth to their squad on the wings.

Szczesny and Chamberlain are on the verge of entering into the final two years of their contract and Liverpool believe they have a realistic chance of signing the players.

However, Wenger’s reluctance in selling his players to league rivals could be a major problem for Jurgen Klopp.

Wenger blocked a January move to Manchester United for Mathieu Debuchy and the French tactician revealed afterwards that he had no regrets in blocking the move. There is also bad blood in terms of transfers between the two clubs due to the failed transfer bid for Luis Suarez from Arsenal in 2013.

Szczesny has been impressive for Roma this season helping the Galliarossi to third on the Serie A table and Chamberlain despite his poor performance, is highly rated in England and Wenger would be reluctant to lose the star duo to a league rival.
