Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal want-away defender, Mathieu Debuchy isn’t short of suitors since he demanded to exit the Emirates in search of regular playing time in order to win a spot in the French national team for the European Championship coming up later this year in his native land France.
Italian side AS Roma and French outfit; Olympique Lyon were the initial clubs bidding to take the player away from Arsenal in the January transfer window but it has now emerged that Debuchy may remain in England but not with the Gunners as speculation has been linking Debuchy with a move to Tony Pulis tutored side; West Bromwich Albion, after the Gunners recalled Serge Gnabry from the Hawthorns.
But Aston Villa are ready to go head to head with West Brom for the 30 year old defender in a bid to help them beat the drop. Villa are currently lying bottom of the league table and are looking for players with experience such as Debuchy to help rescue their season.
Although Tony Pulis’s side are currently leading the race for the players signature but Remi Garde hopes to use his French connection to lure Debuchy to Villa Park; Garde has close link with Wenger who was his former Boss and he hopes that close relationship would help swing the pendulum in his favour ahead of Pulis.
