Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal are on the verge of losing experienced right back; Mathieu Debuchy to West Bromwich Albion for the remainder of the season, according to reports. The 30-year-old has reportedly requested to quit the Emirates last week in a bid to get regular playing time and boost his chances of making Didier Deschamp’s squad for the European Championship hosted by his native land, France.
Debuchy join the Gunners from Newcastle United for £10 Million after the experienced defender stayed with the Magpies for just 18 months, making 46 appearances for the St James Club. Debuchy has struggled to get back into the Arsenal first team squad since losing his spot due to long term injury.
Hector Bellarin has been in fine form since Debuchy’s injury and the 30 year old feels its time he looks for regular playing time elsewhere if he is to make it to the Euros with France. Italian outfit AS Roma and French side Olympique Lyon were the front runners for Debuchy’s signature but it now appears that English Premier League side West Brom has moved ahead for the player’s signature, with reports indicating that the deal is almost certainly completed and waiting to be announced in the coming days.
Debuchy can pick up the pieces of his career at West Brom as he would be given a regular running with the Albion squad baring injuries. His experience would be vital for Tony Pulis’s side for the remainder of the season.
