Anthony Martial has denied reports that he could leave Manchester United this summer, as he continues to be linked with a move to Arsenal.
The Daily Mail recently claimed Arsenal could turn its attention to Martial if Wenger fails to sign his top target Kylian Mbappe.
It was claimed Wenger sees the Manchester United man as an alternative to Mbappe who is proving very difficult to sign but the boss may now have to draw up his wish list again after Martial took to Twitter to deny reports that he will be leaving Manchester this transfer window.
The winger tweeted in French which was translated by Fourfourtwo.com:
“The rumor is false”
Les rumeurs sont fausses
— Anthony Martial (@AnthonyMartial) June 28, 2017
The French man had a season to forget at Man Utd last season, starting just 18 of their Premier League games and scoring 8 goals in all competitions. That was a poor campaign for a player of his status, especially when compared to his maiden Premier League season when he scored 17 goals.
It was expected that he would jump at the chance of changing clubs, so be could play regularly but it appears he wants to stay and fight for his place in Mourinho’s team.
Wenger would now have to focus all his attention on Mbappe, knowing fully well that it is now the Monaco man or no one else.
