Manchester City are reportedly preparing a £53million move for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.
Sanchez is about to enter the final year of his Arsenal contract and has been heavily linked with a move away this summer.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola signed the Chile international during his time at Barcelona and is said to be keen on a reunion at the Etihad.
And according to journalist Tancredi Palmeri, City are set to make a £53million bid for the 28-year-old, who is also a target for Bayern Munich.
Palmeri posted on Twitter: “Arsenal contacted by Manchester City to announce that they will bid approx 60m€ for Alexis Sanchez, and anyway are ready to match Bayern.”
In my own opinion, Sanchez should not be allowed to join a direct rival or even Bayern Munich, Wenger should keep him and let him run out his contract and he can leave at the end of next season.
He will be 29 years old in December and would be approaching 30 by the end of next season and then he can leave for free to any club of his choice.
Wenger should use Alexis’ case to set an example to other players that Arsenal have gone past the days of making profits alone and are ready to keep its squad together by any means possible!
Gooners, what do you think? Should Wenger cash in on Alexis this summer or should the boss keep him and let him leave on a free transfer at the end of next season?
