Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal have been alerted that Porto midfielder and Gunners transfer target, Giannelli Imbula is up for sale in the January transfer window, according to reports from his agent. The Gunners were heavily linked to Imbula last summer but failed to capture the player and it was expected that the Gunners would make a return bid for his services in the January transfer window.
Imbula is a holding midfield player but has found playing time hard to come by in the Porto’s first team as he has only started just 8 games for Porto in the Premiera Liga game as he is finding it hard to settle down in Portugal since making the move from French side Olympique Marseille for £14.2 Million on a five-year- deal with a release clause said to be inserted which amounts to £35.4 Million.
But the Gunners can now swoop for the player in the January transfer window for a cut price from the initial buyout clause of £35.4 Million to £18.5 Million just a year on after moving to Portugal from France.
Injury to key players could force Wenger to sign more holding midfielder as Mohamed Elneny’s signing would be announce within days and now Imbula’s availability could prove to be too tempting for Wenger to ignore, as he has the physical presence needed to stamp your mark in the Premier league.
