Wojciech Szczesny has reportedly agreed to quit Arsenal for Serie A side Napoli this summer, according to reports.
Szczesny is one of numerous Arsenal players whose futures are in doubt. The Pole has been on a two-year loan at AS Roma and has established himself as one of the finest goalkeepers in the Serie A during the period.
Roma who signed Alisson last Summer opted agaisnt making Szczesny’s loan move permanent and reports claim Napoli has taken advantage of that.
According to reports in Italy via Football.London, Szczesny has agreed a three year deal to join Napoli this summer.
The Serie A club now needs to strike an agreement with Arsenal before a move can come into fruition. The move is likely to happen because Arsenal can’t afford to play hardball during negotiations due to the goalkeeper’s contract situation.
Szczesny has just one year left in his contract and Napoli knows Arsenal would have to sell this summer in order not to lose him for nothing next year.
Szczesny’s exit could derail Arsenal’s transfer plans, Wenger hinted few weeks back that the Pole will be one of his goalkeeping options going into next season but with his exit and that of David Ospina on the cards, we may be forced to jump into the market for a new goalkeeper.
