Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Matheiu Debuchy’s time at the Emirates is coming to an end, with reports saying he has opened talks with Roma.
The Frenchman has not found life at the Emirates easy, with injuries and loss of form limiting his game time to just seven appearances this season prompting him to ask the manager to allow him leave in order to gain first team football ahead of Euro 2016.
The request seems to have been granted, and Roma –Through Walter Sabatini; have now stepped in and have opened talks with both the club and player agents.
Debuchy’s departure could leave Arsenal short of options at the right back position, but a proposed loan deal with an option to buy at 8 million pounds would tempt the gunners resolve.
Several other clubs are also interested in the experienced right back, with AS Monaco, Lyon and Aston Villa also interested, but he seems to prefer Roma and will agree terms with them soon.
Arsenal might delay the deal until towards the end of the month so as to deal with their congested fixture.
