Arsenal’s transfer plan to land Dynamo Moscow’s highly rated striker Aleksandr Kokorin in the summer has finally been revealed, according to reports.
Arsenal were in the market in the summer with the obvious need to bolster their team ahead of the new season, and one area many fans had expected the manager to add to the squad was in the striking department.
However, the summer ended and the club made just one solitary signing in Petr Cech from rivals Chelsea, leaving many fans angry at the club’s decision not to add fresh names to their first team squad list ahead of the new season.
And now, reports have revealed that the Gunners did try to bring in a striker in the summer, but the loan move was rejected by Dynamo who felt their 24-year-old striker deserved a permanent offer.
Dynamo boss Andrey Kolebev made this revelation: ” There were substantial discussions on Kokorin, but it did not happen,”
“We vetoed a loan.”
“I believe that Alexander deserves more than a loan.” Kolebev added.
However, fresh reports according to Daily Star claim Arsenal would return for Kokorin, with the club still keen on him and could consider a fresh bid in January.
