According to reports from the Daily Star, Arsenal have confirmed goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny will rejoin AS Roma until the end of next season.

The Polish goal stopper has been remarkable in his two years away on loan since the introduction of Petr Cech from Chelsea.

He has made 34 league appearances for the Italian side during the last campaign, helping them towards a third spot finish in Serie A.

The 26-year-old who debuted for Arsenal in 2010, moved to Roma in 2015 and re-signed for another year after a successful first campaign.

And James Palotta, president of the Serie A side, insisted that the Polish goalkeeper was keen to remain in the Italian capital.

‘It’s a sign we’ve got a good group, we just lack some depth and Monchi (director of football) will help us with that.’

Juventus were reportedly interested in signing Szczesny with Goonersden.com believed the Italian club were prepared to table £14 million for his signature.
