Manager Arsene Wenger could reportedly axe two Arsenal stars and replace them with this sensational Premier League star.

According to reports, Arsenal are ready to step up its interest in Stoke City’s Jack Butland as Wenger looks to bring in top competition for Petr Cech.

Arsenal are expected to lose both Wojciech Szczesny and David Ospina this summer and Wenger is keen to bring in a top goalkeeeper who can take over from Cech in the nearest future.

The former Chelsea goalkeeeper who turned 35 in May and despite still having two years left in his contract, Wenger  has begun searching for his long-term replacement.

New Everton goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford was on Arsenal’s radar before but Wenger is set to turn his attentions to Jack Butland now that he has moved to the Goodison Park.

According to Bleacher Sports via The Daily Star, Wenger is now ready to step up his pursuit of Butland and is expected to make a bid this summer.

Understandably, Stoke City do not want to sell but Arsenal have been boosted by Butland agent’s claims that a move to a big club will be tempting to both the player and his club.

The goalkeeper’s agent Garry Mellor said:

“If Jack’s going to leave Stoke it’s going to be for a huge club, a club that’s playing in the Champions League – and if that sort of club did come in for Jack I think Stoke would recognise that any player would want to go and play at the highest level they possibly can.”

Although we won’t be playing in the Champions League next term, it is only going to be for one season if we get our acts right this summer. So I don’t see any reason why Butland won’t join us if we make an approach.

It will take a huge bid and a lot of effort to convince Stoke to sell Butland, especially as Pickford recently moved to the Goodison Park for £30m but it’s a deal we can pull off if we are determined.

I have never seen Our Petre Cech stop three penalties in a row not even two. For sure we need someone young and aggressive compared to Petre.
