Arsene Wenger will do everything possible to sign Monaco wonderkid Kylian Mbappe this summer, according to reports.

It’s no news that Wenger is a big admirer of the forward, having monitored him since he was 16. Few months ago, the boss confirmed we tried to sign the youngster last year but Monaco weren’t interested in selling.

However, a lot has changed since then. The striker has broken into Monaco’s first team and has made an immediate impact in world football, establishing himself as one of football’s most talented youngsters.

His record of 26 goals in 44 games have placed him on the radar of some of football’s biggest clubs who are willing to break the world transfer record to sign him.

Surprisingly, Arsenal are one of those clubs who are prepared to spend big on the teenager.

Last week, French publication L’Equipe claimed we had an £87m bid rejected for the striker and now the same publication says we are prepared to spend up to £120m on the France international.

Wenger is keen to land a marquee signing this summer and would do everything to secure the services of Mbappe despite huge competition for his services.

Big money spenders like Real Madrid, Manchester United and Manchester City are all said to be interested in Mbappe but Wenger is prepared to go toe-to-toe with them in the race to sign the striker.

This will come as good news to Arsenal fans who have been urging the club to compete with these clubs in the transfer market. It’s a good thing if the club begins to show such ambition, what a wonderful time to be a Gooner! Finger’s crossed, we’ll be able to get Mbappe in.
