Chelsea will make a move for Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain in August, according to the Daily Mail.
Chamberlain’s contract expires at the end of next season and he is not even close to signing an extension.
Arsenal offered the midfielder fresh terms a fortnight ago but he turned it down, stating his intentions to leave this summer.
Chelsea who have been monitoring Chamberlain’s situation since last season have been alerted by the latest development and are now plotting an official approach for the midfielder.
Other reports Wenger could sanction his sale with the prospect of bringing in Thomas Lemar and or Riyad Mahrez, as well as keeping hold of Alexis Sanchez.
According to the Daily Mail, our West London rivals want to sign four more players before the end of the transfer window and Chamberlain is one of their targets
Chamberlain wants to play in a centre midfield position and also get guarantees about his position in the starting xi but Wenger isn’t prepared to give any guarantee to the player, causing negotiations to stall.
Liverpool are also interested in the winger but have had an approach turned down, with Wenger insisting he wouldn’t be sold to a domestic rival.
It is unlikely Wenger will now sanction a move to Chelsea but we run the risk of losing him for free next summer if the player refuses to change his mind.
