Arsenal are reportedly closing in on a club-record agreement to land Lyon star Nabil Fekir for £60m ($79.30M).
The North Londoners have been increasingly linked with the 24-year-old in recent weeks as they consider potential replacements for Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, both of whom are out of the deal at the end of the campaign.
If Arsenal manages to push through a deal in the January transfer window, they could permit both Sanchez and Ozil also to leave to avoid losing them on free transfers during the summer.
The Daily Star suggests that the North Londoners are now in advanced discussions with Lyon, who also gave Arsenal’s current most expensive player during the summer when Alexandre Lacazette transferred to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsene Wenger is now set to exceed that £52m deal for Fekir, with the move probably being funded by the £30m exits of Sanchez and Ozil.
The Lyon attacker who has also been linked with Barcelona has directly scored to 17 goals in as many games across all tournaments for Lyon this season, netting 13 times and assisting four more.
