Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez is reportedly closing in on the move to Real Madrid, although a Bernabeu ace would have to be sold first for that to happen.
Manchester City stays keen on signing the North Londoners star and are believed to be planning a fresh £50million offer for the striker in January, despite Arsene Wenger’s insistence that not Sanchez or contract rebel Mesut Ozil will be followed in the New Year.
But, Don Balon suggests that Real are close to a deal for the 28-year-old however only if they sell winger Lucas Vazquez – which would require chief admirers Roma to reignite their interest in the footballer.
Vazquez played quite strongly last campaign as Real won La Liga and the Champions League, however, has not been included quite as much this time around and has been heavily tipped to make a move away from the Bernabeu.
Roma sporting director Monchi has announced in the past his appreciation for Vazquez, 26. However, the Italian side will need to make a firm offer for Real to consider letting him go and then swooping for Sanchez as an option in January.
The one thing that could put a spanner in the works, however, is that Real manager Zinedine Zidane is not too intent on losing a vital squad member halfway through the campaign even if Sanchez joins.
