Arsenal have completed the permanent signing of Greek defender Konstantinos Mavropanos from PAS Giannina.
The fee reported for Mavropanos was reported by the Sun to be £2.2million.
The 20-year-old central defender is Wenger’s first January signing, however Sky Sports state he is expected to join German outfit Werder Bremen on loan until the end of the season.
The news was announced on the official Arsenal Twitter page on Thursday afternoon.
Consistent good domestic play had placed the young greek defender in the limelight for a big move, and now he’ll have the chance to prove himself at the top level.
Coming into the 2017/18 season, Konstantinos had only made two Greek top flight league appearances, he has now gone on to make 14 this season alone.
