Perhaps the arrival of Spanish manager Unai Emery may have brought a stroke of luck to Arsenal because they are preparing to add yet another potential signing this summer.
Turkish defender Caglar Soyuncu has appeared to have selected his next club destination and he has handpicked Arsenal as his choice.
Admired for his strong leadership attributes, ability to snake through defensive lines at a perfect timing, and a solid jumper at intercepting volleyed balls and crosses, the 22-year-old SC Frieburg player has remarked that his next career journey is to the Emirates Stadium.
According to his agent Mustafa Dogru, the Gunners lead the race in securing his services.
Dogru confirmed that concrete talks have commenced between both clubs and what is left is for a deal to be met.
“Sven is interested in Caglar,” he told Turkish Football.
“And there are concrete talks, all that remains is for a fee to be agreed. We will see what happens next.”
He also revealed that the youngster has been locked in the Gunners’ radar during his days at Borussia Dortmund and was well monitored by the Gunners head of recruitment Sven Mislintat.
But, the Gunners are not the only club in line waiting for his signature. Manchester City, Liverpool and Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid are attracted to the 22-year-old.
Frieburg, however, have insisted they will only approve his sale if his £35 million valuation is cleared by Arsenal or any other club.
