Arsenal ladies have completed the signing of England striker Jordie Taylor, the club has revealed. The striker joined Arsenal from America National women’s soccer league side Portland Thorns.
The striker was an important member of the England female national team side that took part in last summer’s World Cup and featured in four games for the Lionesses’ scoring the first goal for England in the quarterfinal game against Canada.
The club is excited to complete the signing and the Gunners female team manager Pedro Martinez Losa couldn’t hide his joy at completing the transfer.
He said: “Jodie is someone that I know well from my time in the United States. She is an excellent player, who has been at the top level for many years.
“Her movement off the ball, her ability to work for the team and her ability to score goals will make her a great addition to our team. She is a fantastic character too. I am very pleased to welcome her to the club.”
Every one here would like to welcome Taylor to the club and hope she enjoys her time here while helping us to win trophies.
