Having completed the transfer coup of Chelsea legend Petr Cech recently, Arsenal have paved the way for other clubs to approach them for David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny.
After Monday’s official signing of veteran goalkeeper Petr Cech, Arsenal now have within their ranks, three National team’s first-team goalkeepers. And this has brought the spotlight on Arsenal for clubs looking to add quality goalies between the sticks.
Arsenal however, can only keep ahold of at least one of either Szczesny or Ospina, with reports suggesting the former is likely to remain at Arsenal as an understudy to the legendary Cech.
Ospina on the other hand, has been heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates stadium in recent weeks with Turkish side Fenerbahce hot on his tracks.
Now, fresh report claims the Colombian, who current holds a record at Arsenal, could actually be heading back to France with Ligue 1 side Marseille set to launch a transfer bid for the Arsenal shot stopper.
The report says the French club are set to battle with the Turkish side for the signature of the 26-year-old Colombian.
Ospina, who was one of Arsenal’s most outstanding performers in the second half of the just concluded season, is desperate to keep playing regular, but the signing of 33-year-old Cech ruins his chances of ever getting that at Arsenal.
The reports also says that Ospina will hold talks with Arsene Wenger once returning from the Copa America, and will make it clear that he won’t sit on the bench, according to the Mirror.
Arsenal fans, don’t think Arsenal will regret the sale of Ospina? Here is why i think we would.
