Arsenal have completed the signing of Greek and Borrussia Dortmund centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos, this is according to report.

The Gunners completed the signing of Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juventus earlier this week and in their quest to continue to revamp the defense, they have moved to complete the signing of Papastathopoulos.

The 29-year defender joined Borrussia Dortmund from Werder Bremen in the summer of 2013 but managed to establish himself as a first team player for the the Westfalenstadion outfit in the 2016-17 season after Matt Hummel departed the club for Bayern Munich in the summer of 2016.

Dubbed as a no-nonsense defender, the centre-back featured in 43 games for Dortmund in all competitions last season but he has decided to call time on his spell with them. He was offered a new contract by the Bundesliga side but he opted against signing the deal in favour of a move to Arsenal.

Sokratis was also linked with a move to Manchester United but his father revealed that he preferred a move to Arsenal. And now, L’Equipe claim he’s completed a move to Arsenal.
