According to reports, Gideon Zelalem will join Dutch Eerste Divisie side VVV-Venlo on loan until the end of the season.
The young midfielder was linked with a move to the Bundesliga last week but it was thought that Wenger doesn’t want to let him leave the Emirates.
Surprisingly, the boss has now reversed his decision and the Telegraaf via the Metro claims the midfielder is on the verge of completing a temporary move to the Netherlands.
Yesterday, it was claimed that Wenger would make a decision in the next 24 hours whether to allow the midfielder leave on loan and it appears he has decided that a move away from the Emirates will be best for the lad’s development.
The midfielder has already completed a medical at VVV-Venlo where he will spend the remainder of the campaign. The report further claims the lad signed a new long term contract with Arsenal before completing the move to the Dutch club so he wouldn’t leave for free at the end of the season.
Zelalem is highly rated at Arsenal and is being touted to follow the path of Alex Iwobi to become a regular in first team but he has found it difficult to force his way into Wenger’s plans this season and a temporary move to a team where he will play regularly will definitely be the best decision for him
We wish him all the best at VVV-Venlo and hopefully he will return to us a better player at the end of the season.
