Arsenal’s new signing Granit Xhaka arrived at the Emirates on Monday to officially sign a contract with the Gunners, according to a report in the Metro.
The midfielder is Wenger’s only summer signing till date and he is now officially a Gunner.
The club announced the capture of the midfielder last month after agreeing a fee of £33m with Borussia Monchengladbach.
Due to international commitments, the player had to join the Swiss national team immediately after completing his medicals and with Switzerland already out of the Euro 2016 competition, the player has now returned to the club to sign his contract.
The midfielder revealed shortly after the official announcement last month, that his move to Arsenal is a dream come true.
‘I am very happy to be here. It’s a dream come true and I’m happy,’ said Xhaka.
‘I remember when I was young and the first game I watched was in the Premier League. It’s a big dream for me and now that I’m here I am very, very happy.
‘I like the style of football [in the Premier League]. It’s aggressive and I like the way Arsenal play football. It’s not like other countries but it’s very, very nice here.’
The midfielder was one of Switzerland’s best players in the Euro 2016 with three man of the match displays and the Gooners are already looking forward to watching the midfielder turn out in style at the Emirates next season.
