Arsenal youngster Chris Willock has reportedly snubbed Manchester City for Benfica this summer.

The 19-year-old’s contract ends this summer and he has been linked with a move to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in recent months. Despite being part of the Arsenal side for 14 years, Willock is yet to make a Premier League appearance under Arsene Wenger.

The youngster’s career-defining moment thus far came when he made his debut under Arsene Wenger during a league cup tie versus Nottingham Forest in September last year, going on to make one further appearance in the same competition.

Highly-rated Willock, whose only two appearances for the Gunners came in the EFL Cup last season, has travelled to Portugal to discuss terms over the free transfer.

Although, the gifted teen has been offered a contract extension at Arsenal, though he has decided to turn it down and depart the Emirates club when upon the completion of his current deal at the end of this month.

He will join up with Benfica’s B team with immediate effect, where the guarantee of a regular starting shirt.
