Croatia international and Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakiti, will favour a move to Arsenal ahead of Manchester United, this is according to report.

Barcelona have failed to live up to their bidding in the Champions League and speculations are rife over the future of a chunk of their players as they are heavily dissapointed.

El Gol Digital, as re-reported by The Express, claims Rakitic future is up in the air with Manchester United and Arsenal heavily linked with a move for the midfielder.

Even though Manchester United have more prospect of qualifying for the Champions, the report has claimed that the 30-year-old mega star would prefer a move to Arsenal as it is given that they have similar football ideology as Barcelona.

Arsenal are currently lacking in midfielders and defenders in their squad and who ever would be in charge of the club for next season must fortify the midfield and attack to be able to compete with the Gunners rivals.

Rakitic’s departure from Barcelona would be a huge blow for the side as he has made 50 or more appearances in each campaign since he joined them from Sevilla in the summer of 2014.

Rakitic if signed by Arsenal, would be a quality signing for the club given his mentality and experience.

The player is valued at 50,00 Mill. € according to transfermarkt.
