Arsenal are in pole-position to land Udinese kid Jakub Jankto.
The 21-year-old midfielder has been monitored by the Premier League side for over a year and they are set to beat Juventus and AC Milan to his signature, claim Calcio Mercato.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger tried to wrap up a deal for Jankto in the summer, but the move fell through and the now the Frenchman has reignited his interest.
Jankto has bagged two goals in 13 appearances for Udinese and has a reported £6million release clause in his contract.
Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan were in the mix to try and keep the highly-rated midfielder in Serie A.
But the deal for the Czech Republic international could mark the end for Jack Wilshere who becomes a free agent in the summer.
The Gunners academy product has not agreed a new deal at the Emirates, despite Wenger keen for him to stay on beyond this season.
Wilshere, 25 has been offered the chance to join Real Betis, with the Spanish side confident of luring the England international to Spain next season.
The Gunners will be looking to invest heavily when the transfer window reopens in January.
Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil have so far refused to commit their long-term futures to the club and Wenger has insisted the pair will not be leaving in January.
