According to reports, Arsenal have already had two bids rejected for Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang saga continues to rumble on.

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly holding out for a deal worth £57million for the Gabonese striker, a figure we seem reluctant to match.

Reports emerging claims Arsenal could end the chase for Aubameyang and could switch attention in signing Cristian Pavón who has been dubbed the next Alexis Sanchez.

Pavón is the young South American attracting a global audience. This season, the 22-year-old’s stock has risen to new heights as almost every top European club has him on their radar. In 12 Primera Division appearances, the Argentinean has scored 3 goals, provided 5 assists and successfully completed 2.3 take-ons per game. Stats via whoscored.

Cristian Pavón is a highly skilled player that prides himself in his versatility. He has the creative ability to be effective on both flanks and can also be influential through the middle behind the striker. The 22-year-old excels at dribbling out of tight spaces, holding up play for others and executing long shots. His speed, agility and football intelligence suggest he doesn’t have much to work on, but if pushed, it could be said that he could work on his decision-making.

Cristian Pavón may not be the seasoned forward that Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang is, but he presents Arsenal with an exciting package filled with potential & star quality. He could be just as effective as Aubameyang from both wings and act as a huge help to the struggling Alexandre Lacazette.

The Boca Juniors winger has a £33milllion release clause in his contract, making him a much more economically viable option to Arsène Wenger. So, if Arsenal are truly looking to sign a forward AND sign Jonny Evans, then £33m on Cristian Pavón may prove to be a wiser option than £57m on Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang. Of course, Aubameyang is the more seasoned choice, but he shouldn’t be the end all of Arsenal’s transfer plans this winter.
