Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez has been the subject of numerous transfer rumors this summer with Manchester City and Bayern Munich the front-runners for the Chilean international’s signature.
Alexis Sanchez has just 12 months left on his deal which has increased speculations that he is likely to leave the club, sparking a scramble for his signature by top clubs, with reports claiming the Chilean is demanding over £400,000-a-week to move
However, Bayern have stated that they cannot afford to sign the 28-year-old, despite their long standing interest in the winger and manager Carlo Ancelotti saying he’d like to have Sanchez on his team last week.
Bayern’s Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says the club are looking to sign younger players, while the club President Uli Hoeness stated in an interview with German Publication Kicker that the finances for a deal for Sanchez would not be feasible for the capital club.
“Am not in the operational side. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has not yet come to me, so the matter doesn’t seem to be too urgent with him,
A 17.5m salary is probably not feasible”
Manager Carlo Ancelotti also seems to echo the president’s view, he said :
“if an opportunity comes up, the club will be ready. Alexis is a great player, but he isn’t the only one in the world
I believe that the market is currently somewhat crazy, and Bayern is not a crazy club”
Manchester City have the finances to match the £300,000-a-week Arsenal are offering Sanchez to keep him, but the Gunners would not give up their star man to a league rival.
