Reports in France are claiming Arsenal are keeping tabs on one of the country’s rising talent Malang Sarr.
Sarr, 17, has been receiving praises for his outstanding performances for OGC Nice. The youngster who plays as a centre back was promoted to Nice’s first team in the summer and his performances have made him one of the first name on his team’s squad sheet.
He has helped the French club to the top of Ligue One’s summit and he is expected to be rewarded with his first professional contract.
According to L’Equipe via Sportwitness, the defender is on the verge of signing a new contract at Nice which will include a release clause in the region of €50m.
As we all know, once young players are doing well, it is only normal that big clubs are immediately linked with them.
In Sarr’s case, it is Arsenal who are already keeping tabs on the defender, according to Le10Sport.
Although, a move won’t happen any time soon as the new deal is expected to keep the defender at Nice for the foreseeable future, i wouldn’t be surprised if Arsenal are linked with him again in the future.
We have built a good scouting network in France over the years and a number of French players have moved to the Emirates. Laurent Koscielny and Francis Coquelin joined us from the French league when they were unknown players and Sarr could follow in their footsteps if he continues to show he is a young player with a bright future.
